CLC Leadership All Candidates Forum: Moving the Racial Justice Agenda Forward

Monday, May 31, 2021 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. EDT
Watch the recording here.

The Asian Canadian Labour Alliance (with chapters in British Columbia and Ontario) and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists – Canada are holding a forum for all candidates vying for the leadership positions of the Canadian Labour Congress.

Given the current challenges faced by Indigenous, Black, Asian, and other workers of colour in Canada such as overt and systemic racism, unsafe working conditions exacerbated or created by the pandemic, increases in the cost of food, housing, and transportation without appropriate increases in wages and benefits, and the decrease in union density in the sectors with the most precarious workers, it is very important that workers hear from those who aim to lead the established house of labour in Canada.

Moderated by ACLA and CBTU – Canada. The following candidates have confirmed their participation to this event:

  • Julius Arscott
  • Bea Bruske
  • Lily Chang
  • Jennie Esnard
  • Sandra Griffith-Bonaparte
  • Harold Marcotte
  • Larry Rousseau
  • Siobhan Vipond
