Members of the Asian Canadian Labour Alliance (ACLA) visited the Toronto picket line to show solidarity with striking Oxfam Canada workers represented by CUPE Local 2722.
The strike centres on key workers’ rights issues, including leave provisions for gender-affirming care and for workers experiencing sexual and gender-based violence, as well as protecting a cost-of-living adjustment that has been part of the collective agreement for more than two decades.
As an organization committed to challenging inequality and advancing gender justice, Oxfam Canada should uphold these values in its own workplace.
ACLA calls on Oxfam management to return to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair settlement that respects workers’ rights, dignity, and well-being.
Workers’ rights are human rights. ACLA stands with CUPE Local 2722!
