Today, ACLA joined more than 50 activists at a Community Breakfast and Rally in support of migrant farmworkers at the Ontario Food Terminal.
The demonstration criticized Canada’s National Food Security Strategy for directing billions in support to corporate agricultural employers while failing to protect the migrant farmworkers who sustain our food system.
By sharing a free community breakfast at this major distribution hub, participants centred the workers whose labour puts food on our tables.
Food security must include workers’ rights. ACLA stands in solidarity with migrant farmworkers fighting for dignity, justice and meaningful protections.
