Members of ACLA joined striking workers on the picket line on March 14 in Oakville, walking alongside OPSEU/SEFPO Local 249 members at Central West Specialized Developmental Services (CWSDS), who have been on strike since November 19, 2025, after the employer’s aggressive actions in bargaining, refusal to meaningfully negotiate, and ongoing workplace conditions that created serious safety concerns for both workers and the people they support.
ACLA is proud to stand with OPSEU/SEFPO Local 249 in solidarity. The workers on these picket lines — many of them racialized women doing some of the most essential and undervalued work in our communities — deserve our full support. We call on CWSDS management to return to the table immediately and reach a fair deal now.
